Overview
Seisen International School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered ESL teacher to support the English language development of multilingual learners across the school. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students gain confidence and proficiency in English within an international, inquiry-driven learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted ESL instruction to students with varying levels of English proficiency.
- Develop and implement differentiated lessons that support language acquisition in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate language-support strategies within mainstream subjects.
- Assess student progress using both formative and summative measures; maintain accurate documentation.
- Support students’ social and academic development in accordance with Seisen’s mission and learning philosophy.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and learning needs.
- Participate in school-wide professional development, faculty meetings, and community events.
- Contribute to an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching certification and ESL/ELL endorsement strongly preferred.
- Experience working in an international school or multicultural classroom environment.
- Knowledge of current ESL pedagogy, including sheltered instruction, inquiry-based learning, and language-support scaffolding.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and intercultural skills.
