The Role
We are seeking an outstanding and dynamic Teacher of Physics to join our growing secondary team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the launch and development of the IB Diploma Programme, while also contributing to our established Cambridge pathway through IGCSE Coordinated Science.
The successful candidate will:
- Teach IB Physics
- Deliver IGCSE Coordinated Science (Double Award)
- Contribute to the development of high-quality IB course outlines and schemes of work
- Support the integration of Approaches to Learning (ATL) and inquiry-based teaching
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including interdisciplinary projects such as the Collaborative Sciences Project
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous lessons aligned with IB and Cambridge curricula
- Prepare students effectively for external assessments (IB exams and IGCSEs)
- Develop and refine IB course outlines, ensuring alignment with subject guides and assessment criteria
- Integrate practical, experimental work and promote scientific inquiry
- Track and support student progress through data-informed teaching
- Contribute to cross-curricular collaboration, particularly within the sciences
- Participate in pastoral care and tutor responsibilities
- Engage actively with professional development, including IB workshops
