Job Description:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver Ontario Curriculum-aligned lessons across English Language Arts (phonics, guided reading, writing), Mathematics, Science & Technology, and Social Studies for Grades 1–6.
- Prepare long-range plans, unit plans, lesson plans, and homework materials with clear learning objectives.
- Use developmentally appropriate strategies: play-based and multi-sensory for primary learners; structured inquiry and skill-building for junior students.
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that address the full range of abilities within the class.
- Motivate students through enthusiastic, imaginative, and engaging classroom activities.
- Organise the classroom and learning resources; create displays that promote a positive, welcoming learning environment.
- Maintain appropriate standards of behaviour, mutual respect, and safety within the classroom.
- Supervise students during classes, breaks, transitions, and other times throughout the school day.
- Conduct formal and informal ongoing assessment; prepare report cards, progress reports, and provide meaningful feedback to support student growth.
- Discuss student progress and concerns with parents and administrators, and attend parent-teacher interviews and extracurricular activities.
- Model Islamic character (adab, shukr, ihsaan) as a daily, lived practice — building tarbiyah through habit, routine, and relationship.
- Integrate Islamic values, social responsibility, and kindness into daily teaching and routines.
- Attend staff meetings and work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and coordinate work.
- Perform other related duties as required.
